November 20th, 2011 - The Stash
Hi there! Long time no posting but you know how time flies when you’re not doing anything productive. I seem to be in the quilting or anything sewing-related rut. Hopefully I’ll get out of it before I really lose interest in all this beautiful fabric that seems to keep coming home with me. A local quilt shop was having a sale so I bought a few yards and then I won a few yards. Boy does that add up! Anyway, here is my awesome stash report.

Net fabric busted: -50.20 yds
 Okay, so that’s a crappy total but I’m hoping to at least get it down to maybe 20 yards before the year end. Time to sew! See you later.

September 18th, 2011 - The Stash
 Three weeks in a row! I think I’m setting a new record, for myself that is. And that means I have used some fabric too. Actually I made some kits up for a friend who has taken an interest in quilting. She likes all these little wall hangings I made so she asked me for some fabric and the patterns to make her own. I said “sure, more fabric out of my house”. And it made a tiny little dent in my stash.

 Hey we go again. Another week and more stash used. I bet you thought I was going to say that I added more fabric. Fooled you all! And myself too. I finished 2 more comfort quilt tops and I still need to cut the backs for 3 of them. And when I do cut the backs, I hope my numbers will finally be headed in the right direction.

Hey, 2 weeks in a row. That could only mean one thing. I’ve sewed again. Woo hoo!! Anyway here’s the scoop.

Net fabric busted: -33.9 yds
 I’m working really hard to get that back into the positives. And that means sew, sew, sew! I did win a gift basket that has some fat quarters but it’s still at the shop I won it from. And I heard there’s some yardage in there too. I hope it’s all usable stuff and that it’s not going to sit in my stash. If that’s the case, I’ll just have to gift it to someone. Have a great sewing week.
August 27th, 2011 - The Stash
I’m back! Doesn’t that sound like a line from a movie? And I want to say it’s from a Jack Nicholson movie that I can’t remember the name of. You know the one where he says “here’s Johnny” and the kid in it keeps on saying “red room” which is murder backwards. Anyway, that’s not what I’m here to post about. It’s all about the stash. I’ve sewed just a wee bit and I’ve increased my stash just a wee bit. Well, more than a wee bit but it was certainly worth it. All for a good cause.
Fabric used: 3.19 yds
Fabric used YTD: 106.64 yds
Fabric added: 43.33 yds of which 39 yds were flannel for comfort quilt backings and the rest was another quilt backing
Fabric added YTD: 154.02
Net fabric busted: -47.38
I was really trying to not post anything until I was back in the positives. Now I’ll just have to rev up the  machine and start quilting. Have a wonderful day. I hope everyone in the path of Hurricane Irene stays safe.
July 10th, 2011 - The Stash
 I know, I know this is supposed to be a weekly report. But I just can’t report when there’s nothing going on. I’ve read everyone’s reports and they’ve been busy because it’s so hot out. Do you think that’s my case? Not! I find when it’s hot out, I do less sewing. I just sit outside and read in the shade of our gazebo. It’s 90 plus out there every day and I am sitting there reading when I could be in the cool basement sewing. Am I nuts? Do I need my head examined? I think so! Anyway here is my report.

 I really wanted that Net fabric used to be in the positives. I know, there’s always next week. I do need to make a backing and binding for a baby quilt that needs to be done soon. See you later!
June 5th, 2011 - The Stash
Nothing added and that’s a good thing.

 I’d really like to have better numbers than last year but they are not. Maybe by the next month or so, I’ll be in a better position. My biggest problem is I’m so particular about matching fabric and if the colour is off just a little bit, it really bugs me. I should get over it and I’d be able to use way more of my stash. Right?
May 22nd, 2011 - The Stash
 Two posts in less than 24 hours. Boy, things are changing here. I’ve been trying to finish a lot of UFOs, most of them just need to be quilted. And most of the fabric has already been accounted for. I did start another stitchery project, Snow Days, from Crabapple Hill. I can’t believe how much fabric this pattern calls for. I cut the stitchery squares a lot smaller than required and double checked to be sure it wasn’t too small. Anyway, here are my numbers.

 Hopefully I’ll be good this week. I’m going to Charlevoix today and you know what that means. Hearts to Holly here I come. Also I’m going to 2 quilt shows, one in St Jacobs ON and the other is a biggie here in Canada. It’s the CQA in London ON. All in the same week and only 1 hour apart. Hold me back! Actually I have to be really good, we have a strike looming and I don’t want to spend too much. Have a great week.
April 24th, 2011 - The Stash
Once again, the call of beautiful fabric has spoken. But my husband liked it so I just had to get it. Good reason to have him around when I visit a quilt shop. We went to Kitchener and there’s this little quilt shop, Creative Sisters Quilt Shop, and I made a few purchases. No pictures because I loaned my camera to my son. I bought some Stonehenge and Dr Seuss fabrics. I already made a baby quilt out of the Dr Seuss stuff and maybe this week I’ll get the other top completed. So here goes this report.
