July 29th, 2012 - The Stash

Yup, it’s certainly becoming “The Stash”. I’ve added so much fabric to it in the last month or so, that there’s just not enough time to sew it all. I added 55 yards but really it’s all for good reasons. The number 1 being, it was on sale and number 2 reason was I needed it. Right! Actually quite a bit of it was flannel backing for comfort quilts. Joanns had a sale and I went on the first day and bought a whack of it, like 33 yards of it at 3.49 per yard. My group. The Quilters Three, has made 16 comfort quilts with flannel backing, so far this year. I think that’s pretty amazing, considering there are only 3 of us doing it! Now I just need to piece a few backs for the stack of quilt tops and my numbers will be in the good again.

Fabric used YTD: 92.95 yds

Fabric added YTD:131.39 yds

Net fabric busted: -38.44 yds

These numbers don’t reflect where I’d like to be at this time but, oh well, I’ve got another 22 weeks to go, I think. Have a great week and Happy Sewing!

July 1st, 2012 - The Stash

Happy Canada Day to all my fellow Canadian quilters.

I’m back from my hiatus that I didn’t know I was taking. I’m still quilting and using and buying fabric as always. And we had a baby shower last week for the new grandson that isn’t here yet. I can’t wait for his arrival. Never thought I would feel this way and I don’t think there was this anticipation with my own children. I’m just so excited! Anyway on to the stash numbers.

Fabric used this report: 14.55 yds

Fabric used YTD: 82.1 yds

Fabric added this report: 15.8 yds (10 yds was flannel backing for comfort quilts)

Fabric added YTD: 75.56 yds

Net fabric busted: 6.54 yds

I’m still in the good and the next report will be in the good too. I’m going to cut 3 backings today and maybe get one qilted. It’s already too hot for me so it’s a stay inside kind of day. Like it’s been for the last week. Have a great day and stay cool.
