May 17th, 2015 - The Stash

Being retired isn’t all what it’s cracked up to be. I never seem to find the time to keep my blog updated and make regular posts. I read all the blogs I follow but don’t post on my own. All I seem to do is get more ideas about quilts and it becomes mind boggling. Oh there are so many quilts I want to make and one day I’ll get them all done. At least in my head!

As I posted before, I used my friend, Betty’s longarm to get some quilt tops quilted. I managed to get most of them bound. One more to go and the unpicking is still on going on the one I didn’t like. Betty went away again and I did get one of my quilts done and one my sister had made for Mother’s Day for my mom. The binding pile is only at 2 so that’s doable. The “to be quilted” pile keeps on growing. I really need to get busy here.

Now for the dreaded accounting of fabric accumulation!

Fabric used since the last time: 21.63 yds

Fabric used year to date: 86.04 yds

Fabric accumulated since the last  report: 14.04 yds

Fabric accumulated year to date: 115.29 yds

Net fabric busted: -29.25 yds

I don’t know how much quilting I’ll get done in the coming months as yard work and home renovations are in order. The guy who is supposed to be building the kitchen cupboards is supposed to be here any day now. He said 2 weeks 2 weeks ago. If he’s not here or hasn’t called by the end of May, I’m getting somebody else. Two and a half years waiting for cupboards and it’s beginning to wear on me. But floors need to be refinished before the cupboards go in and that’s a real messy job. All that dust. I’d rather quilt!

Have a great week and enjoy the beautiful weather.
