April 17th, 2009 - Bloggers Quilt Festival
This  is a great idea. A bloggers quilt festival.
Here’s the first block-of-the-month quilt that I made. No binding yet but that’s okay, I still don’t know where I’m going to put it. I want to use it on a bed in a guest bedroom but I have to wait until one of my boys move out. And that’s not going to be happening for a while .
                                                   Â
And a couple of pictures of the individual blocks. When I made this I wasn’t a very experienced quilter. I didn’t notice that the background fabric had a directional pattern in it. Clouds usually run left and right, not up and down. I figured it out towards the end of the program and I wasn’t going to change the “oops” blocks. I don’t think it really matters.

This is a delightful quilt. I love the fabric print bordering the blocks! Bet no one has even noticed the cloud direction – at least not until you point it out. 🙂 Besides, it gives the quilt a story which adds to how special it is.

I did the same thing with cloud fabric once and nobody noticed but me. I love the Spring feel of this quilt. Thanks for the closeup of the birds and irises. Bravo!

I’ve been wanting it to be Spring for a while, but quilts like this throw me over the edge with anticipation for the sun to come back into our lives!

wonderful quilt. I don’t really like floral fabrics myself, but they are gorgeous in your quilt. I may have to relax a little and use some occasionally if they’ll turn out this nice.

What a nice quilt you have here. No problem I think about this cloudy fabric. It is handwork isn’t it, it doesn’t have to be perfect…..you always learn from mistakes, and it is cute not changing them in these adorable blocks!
