July 13th, 2014 - The Stash
Ok, let’s try this again. I posted this originally from my iPad because it’s easier to have a few pictures. Then when I looked at the post on my laptop, the pictures were huge and I couldn’t figure out how to re-size them. Oh well, it will be a pictureless post again as I don’t have my camera and I can’t seem to remember how to do anything today.
I’ve had a good week, got lots of sewing done and even walked most days. Did some gardening too! I’m making some pocket tissue holders to sell at a craft show in November. I just love playing with fabric and seeing how the colours come together. I think this is my favourite part of quilting.
Fabric used this week: 3.94 yds
Fabric used YTD: 76.82 yds
Fabric added YTD: 41.35 yds
Net fabric busted: 35.47 yds
I just saw on a blog somewhere that all Moda fabric was 25% off. Boy would I like to remember where that was! Maybe it’s just as well, like I need more fabric!
Have a great week!
July 6th, 2014 - I’m Back
Finally, I get to be retired! My brother is much better and has returned to work and out of my house. Much as I love my brother, I don’t want to live with him again. Ever! I hope he stays nice and healthy or gets a wife to care for him.
On the quilting front, not much has gotten done and I just can’t seem to get anything done either. I finished hooking a rug, stitching the last panel of Winter Wonderland and now am trying to finish hand-quilting something I started a few years ago, maybe 6 or 7 years ago. I need to get my mojo going as I have a table in a craft show in November. Hmmm…… what to make that would sell. I have lots of ideas, just have to get busy.
Now for my meager stash report.
Fabric used since the last time: 1.92 yds
Fabric used YTD: 72.88 yds
Fabric added YTD:Â 41.35 ydsÂ
Net fabric busted: 31.53 yds
I spent the last month in Barrie ON and visited a few quilt shops. I managed to buy only books and threads. I couldn’t even muster up the creative germ to look at fabric. I kept thinking of how I just wanted to go home and sew. Looking at quilting blogs and magazines only made it worse. Now that I’m home, all this house stuff is keeping me busy. Leaving 2 guys here alone for a month is trouble. I’m hoping this week to start sewing something.
Have a great week and keep cool!
