October 4th, 2009 - Week #40

Holy moly! It’s week 40! I don’t have to tell you how soon it is to a certain holiday or the year end either. But does time fly, especially when you keep track of it like we do.

Anyway this has been a busy sort of week. I made a comfort quilt in 2 days flat. Now that’s a record. Granted it was only kid sized but I did it. The Oct. BOM was out so I had to get that and I finished it. I also managed to create a few journal covers.

This is my first attempt. It ended up being too small so I cut off the ends of the book.  Next time I’d better measure before I sew it all together. I won’t be giving this one away.

I really like how this one turned out. It’s a tiny bit too big but that’s okay. No one is going to notice but you know I’m a little OCD about these things. I made 2 more like this with the flower in different colours.  All I have to do is sandwich them, quilt and turn right-side out and they’re done.

On the next covers I’d like to try a little Texture Magic in the flowers or leaves. I didn’t feel like doing that last night. I guess you have to be in the mood to play around with that stuff. Anyway I used a bit of fabric up.

Fabric added this week: .25 yds

Fabric added YTD: 224.94 yds

Fabric used this week: 6.4 yds

Fabric used YTD: 167.69 yds

Net fabric busted: -57.25 yds

Now to keep on the straight and narrow for the rest of the year and I’ll be in the positives.

Have a great sewing day. It’s the perfect weather for it. I love fall.
